Osteopathy in the Flow
Ostheopathy in the flow is an event where I promote, in a light, creative and free spirited way, Osteopathy, sparking curiosity and interest in the approaches, techniques and benefits.
The challenge lies in treating patients without knowing their symptoms in advanc yet still improving health.
Patient after patient, this experience becomes fluid...
In the Arts
Osteopathy is an essential therapeutic approach for dancers and musicians, offering significant benefits for both health and performance.
Frequently exposed to to high levels of physical fatigue and repetitive movements, they may suffer from musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain and reduced mobility.
For dancers, osteopathy helps maintain flexibility, strength and fluidity, key elements for executing complex movements. By addressing imbalances and tension in the body, I aim to prevent future issues, accelerate recovery from injuries, and improve posture and body alignment, both fundamental for performance.
For musicians, especially those who play instruments that require specific and repetitive upper limb postures, my focus is on alleviating pain in the back, shoulders, arms, and hands.
For wind instrumentalists and singers, my approach emphasizes enhancing and expanding respiratory capacity, which is crucial for these artists.
In both cases, I also work on improving circulation and reducing inflammation in targeted areas.
From my experience, integrating osteopathy into their routines, allow artists to achieve optimal physical and mental well-being, enabling them to fully develop their art with less risk of interruptions due to health issues.
Your health, as an artist, is fundamental to the excellence of your craft.
Only by prioritizing it can you ensure high performance and deliver an inspiring, transformative experience for your audience.

Volunteering
Osteopathy, with its holistic perspective, extends beyond individual health to impact well-being of society as a whole. It plays a crucial role in promoting a balanced and healthy environment for everyone.
With this in mind, I strive to contribute, ethically and socially, through my professional practice - whether by participating in projects that promote social well-being, sharing knowledge on healthy living and disease prevention, or offering my services to those in need.

Ukraine (Nov. 2022)
In the midst of the war, and as part of an international health team created by the humanitarian organization (lifesharehelps), I provided health care to Ukrainians in their home country, primarily women and children.
Most of the cases I encountered I encountered involved conditions related to manual labor, such as back problems and tendonitis.
It was both a remarkable personal and professional experience reaffirming how even mall interventions like mine can make a meaningful difference in the survival of these families.

Romania (Nov. 2022)
At the invitation of lifesharehelps, I joined an international healthcare team that included three doctors and a nurse.
Our mission was to provide medical assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Romania.
During five intense days of volunteer work, I treated around 80 people of all ages. Many suffered from conditions related to fleeing - often on foot- from their war torn country such as sprains and back pain.
This unique experience challenged me both personally and professionally, reinforcing the profound impact of Osteopathy on health, even a war environment.
I was deeply moved by the realization that my small interventions contributed to the survival of these patients and their families.
I sincerely hope they can receive continued care from osteopathic colleagues in their own country, at peace, and that they remember their first osteopathy session with hope and gratitude.

Tecsam Clinic (Mirandela) – Dec. 2007
At the invitation of Dr. Pedro Azevedo, clinical director, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Tecsam – Tecnologia e Serviços Médicos SA, a clinic in Mirandela that provides medical care to patients with kidney failure undergoing dialysis treatment.
I assessed and corrected patients postures during dialysis sessions to prevent musculoskeletal complications such as cramps, back pain or other discomforts.
Additionally, after carefully listening to their main complaints, i made adjustments to their body positioning (either lying down or sitting) to to enhance comfort and performed minor treatments to contribute to their well-being.
